Despite the earlier claims by the Department of Tourism of the rematch happening in the Philippines, promoter Bob Arum asserted Wednesday that the rematch will only happen in Australia, reaffirming the announcement made by Brisbane Lord Mayor Graham Quirk last Monday.

If the rematch pushes through, Pacquiao will have a chance to redeem himself after his controversial unanimous decision loss to Horn last July 2 at the Brisbane Stadium. Many critics and experts, including prominent boxing commentator Teddy Atlas, vented their dismay and frustration about the judges’ decision on that day.
Although the deal is yet to be finalized, the rematch will most likely happen in November this year.
