Uber, Grab drivers accredited after June 30 must be deactivated – LTFRB
The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) released an order on Wednesday asking transport network companies (TNCs) Grab and Uber to deactivate drivers accredited after June 30, 2017.

The LTFRB also ordered the two ride-sharing companies to stop accepting or accrediting new drivers in their platforms.
Grab and Uber previously filed Motions for Reconsideration and were able to put off the LTFRB’s apprehension order last July 11. It only helped, however, the drivers who were registered in their platforms until June 30, 2017.

Drivers who were accredited since July 1 will have their accounts deactivated on Grab and Uber platform. That means drivers will not be able to use the app to take passengers.
Drivers will have to wait to be issued Provisional Authority (PA) or Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) by the LTFRB before they can get back on the road as transport network vehicle services. The LTFRB has so far issued PAs or CPCs to only about 3,700 drivers.
