  • Mall-goers and Asian food-lovers are in for a treat as DaTang Restaurant opens their newest branch at the Venice Grand Canal Mall in Bonifacio Global City. Expect a wider and bigger place to dine with your family and friends as their newest branch opened its doors today, July 26, 2017. A dragon dance by the Chian Lion Dragon Dance Services happened in regards to the celebration, that caught the attention of many passersby.

    The charcoal color walls make the entire room mysterious yet modern. They’ve added traditional red lanterns and added a new twist by adding metal lanterns as well that lights up the entire restaurant. You can enjoy privacy as there are borders and private spaces inside.They’ve also added a bar when you can order wine and cocktails to your liking. You’ll immediately notice the large painting attached the wall, it’s a large image of Chinese ladies wearing their traditional clothes while laughing, eating and enjoying dishes served to them.

    DaTang interiors are chic-modern while staying true to traditions

    DaTang came from two words, “Da” means Great and “Tang” symbolizes the Tang dynasty. For those who don’t know, the Tang dynasty was an imperial dynasty of China. It was generally regarded as a high point in Chinese civilization and a golden age of cosmopolitan culture.

    During this time, the Tang also had a powerful cultural influence over neighboring states such as Vietnam, Japan, and Korea. This restaurant combines traditional and modern cooking techniques and ingredients even creating some dishes with a fusion of different cultural heritage. As they say, their dishes are not just Chinese cuisine. It’s Chinese fusion.

    Soy Sauce Chicken (Php 780)

    At DaTang you can try different dishes with a twist while preserving the traditional Chinese way of preparing and cooking their dishes. Start your meal with their cold appetizers, Soy Sauce Chicken, chicken that is steamed and brined with their traditional soy sauce.

    For a sweeter note, try their Cold Stew-pork with peanut (Php 1120). Now, if you’re looking for fresh and bold flavors, their Seafood Salad (Php 820) is the way to go. It contains mostly squid and mussels that are paired with a wasabi based sauce.

    Stir-fried Ribs with fried garlic and chili (Php 1420)

    The highlight of their dishes are their Stir-fried Ribs with fried garlic and chili, expect the plate to be smothered with toasted garlic bits and chili. Don’t miss out on their DaTang Deep Fried Chicken Wings, sweet and savory. You’ll surely suck your thumbs after trying these dishes.  End your meal by having their Golden Fried Buns (Php 120) with a side of condensed milk; bakes fresh and satisfies your mouth with each bite.
