  • CCP now accepting entries for 29th Indie Film and Video Tilt
  • Are you a budding film maker looking to unveil your work to the country… yet are devoid of any means to do so beyond a YouTube or Facebook account?

If you answered yes, then this event is for you! The Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) is inviting Filipino filmmakers to join the Ika-29 Gawad CCP Para sa Alternatibong Pelikula at Video (29th CCP Independent Film and Video Competition) on August 5-7, 2017!

The main qualifier is quite simple: your film must be strictly independent and not produced for commercial screening. The best part: school-based works (i.e. theses) are eligible! Entries must also have been completed not earlier than June 4, 2016 (this means none of those well-made yet obviously retro home movies).

The 29th Gawad Alternatibo has four categories for you to compete in: Short Feature/Narrative, Experimental, Documentary, and Animation. Each participant may submit a maximum of three entries in each category.

Cash prizes will be given to winners of the different categories. Special Awards will be handed out for the Best Regional Entry and Best Entry for/on/by Children. Honorable mentions may be awarded by the jury (but we know you’re not eyeing that).

Winners of the competition will be announced in the awards ceremony on August 7 at the CCP Tanghalang Manuel Conde (CCP Dream Theater), while pre-selected entries will be screened from August 5-7 at the CCP Tanghalang Manuel Conde.

The Gawad Alternatibo will be held as part of the 13th Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival and Competition to be held on August 4-13 at various CCP venues and Ayala Theaters.

Deadline for submission of entries will be no later than 6:00 pm on May 31, 2017 (Wednesday) at the CCP Film, Broadcast and New Media Division Office (Media Arts Division), located at the fourth floor of the CCP Main Building.

Entry forms, guidelines and mechanics can be downloaded from the CCP website at www.culturalcenter.gov.ph and the Cinemalaya website at www.cinemalaya.org.
