  • Filipino short film ‘Nakaw’ makes it to Cannes Film Festival
  • Another Filipino indie film will be making names in the international film scene. Nakaw, a film by Noel Escondo and Arvin “Kadiboy” Belarmino, has recently been chosen to be one of the films which will be screened in the Short Film Corner of the Cannes Film Festival 2017.

First screened at the Instituto Cervantes’ 15th Manila Spanish Festival, Nakaw narrates the story of Bateng, a little boy who experienced a series of life-changing events after he stole an old woman’s purse. The film, which runs for almost 7 minutes, stars Kristoffer King, Frank Ferguson, Angelo Gammad, Duke San Juan, and Sheika Aljunabi.

The film will be showcased along with a number of short films from all over the world in the festival which will run from May 22 to 28, 2017.
