A first for the beverage industry: PHILRESCA
The country’s first-ever expo for the burgeoning beverage industry opened its doors yesterday at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, and its first edition focused on the one thing everyone has had a recent love affair with: coffee.
Organized by Phil. Asia Conferences and Exhibitions, Inc., the Philippine Restaurant, Café and Bar Expo (PHILRESCA) is the country’s first dedicated sourcing event for the beverage industry.

The event caters to all of those interested in what their restaurant, café, and/or bar needs. This year’s Philresca, however, catered most to the country’s growing coffee industry, with exhibitors showcasing everything from premium coffee beans to top-of-the-line coffee-making products.
One of the exhibitors hails from the town of Amadeo, Cavite, hailed as the “Coffee Capital of the Philippines.”
Those looking to break into the industry will benefit from the educational seminars such as The Cupping Exchange, which highlights the best local coffee beans and their farmers. There’s also Philresca Sessions, a learning-filled discussion on business strageties, latest products and trends, as well as other essential knowledge and issues in the beverage industry.
The main event of Philresca takes place this Saturday, March 4, as the country’s top baristas slug it out at two competitions sanctioned by World Coffee Events: the Finals of the Philippine National Latte Art Championship and the Philippine National Barista Championship.
