Iranian apples to be available in PH soon
In a report published by da.gov.ph, Iranian Ambassador to the Philippines Mohammad Tanhaei had a meeting with Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel F. Piñol on January 13, 2017 to discuss the request of the Iranian government bring its produce to Philippine markets.

According to Piñol, the department is still waiting for the results of Pest Risk Analysis (PRA) in apple fruit samples before signing the document for importation of apples.
Moreover, Tanhaei expressed that Iran is also interested in exporting cherry, pomegranate, and pistachios to the Philippines.
With this, pia.gov.ph cited that Piñol plans to visit Iran in May to explore agriculture ventures with the country and lead in agri-fishery trade shows.
