UP makes it to Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017 list
Placing on the 801+ spot, University of the Philippines (UP) is the lone university from the Philippines to be included in Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2016-2017 list.

In the annual university rankings publication by Times Higher Education (THE) magazine, performance of various top institutions across the world are being looked at most especially its teaching objectives, research, knowledge transfer, and international outlook. UP also ranked 201-250th in BRICS Emerging Economies University Rankings 2017, which classifies institutions in countries as “advanced emerging,” “secondary emerging,” or “frontier.”
The National University of Singapore (NUS) continues to be the top university in Asia, ranking 24th on the list. The top ten universities include: University of Oxford, California Institute of Technology, Stanford University, University of Cambridge, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard University, Princeton University, Imperial College London, ETH Zurich-Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich, University of California, Berkeley and University of Chicago tied at the 10th spot.
