  • Filipino designers featured in a trunk show in Europe
  • Seven Filipino designers and artisans were featured in a trunk show by VERA Jewelry at Seefeldtrasse in Zurich, Switzerland on December 14. The brands that were part of the said show were Banago, Ethnique, Joyce Maquitalo, Joanique, Merriam Batara, Natalya Lagdame, and Vida Lim. It was the first time for these designers to have their designs and collections to be exhibited in Europe.

According to Valerie Remoquillo-Jenni, founder of VERA, she wants to put a spotlight on the talents of Filipino artists and designers, and that doing so is her way of coming home and promoting the crafts these designers make as well.

The said trunk show marked the European launch for the Gender-Responsive Economic Actions for the Transformation of Women (GREAT Women) Project, which VERA is a retail partner of. This is a governance and development project aiming to promote and to support a “gender-responsive enabling environment for women’s economic empowerment” especially those in small businesses.

VERA, “a purveyor of impeccable crafted accessories,” aims to celebrate women’s confidence in flaunting their true style and living in the now. They also feature a curated and unique collection of jewelries designed by Filipino artists – from pendants to crystals and gemstones.
