Now there’s something daily commuters can look forward to going to work everyday. FamilyMart is now accepting loading and payments via beep™ card, the same tap-and-go card you use for your train and bus rides.
The proposal was hinted way back October with the brewing partnership between the beep™ card’s proponent AF Payments Inc. and the Japanese convenience chain store, FamilyMart. And now that it was implemented last December 7, commuters were now able to reload and pay for their purchases at 80 FamilyMart branches.
The beep™ card can be purchased for P20, is reloadable up to P10,000, and valid for four years. beep™ cards can be used at FamilyMart branches where you can find beep™ card tap-and-go terminals.
After the partnership with FamilyMart, AFPI president and chief executive officer Peter Maher said the consortium is looking to enable the use of the beep card in other tollways. They also said to add a security feature in the future to protect the users in case they lost the card.
