Talk about being gifted, Isabel Sieh, at the age of 13 is named as the youngest Filipino programmer. Most kids were busy playing with dolls or cars, but at the age of 10, Isabel started teaching herself how to code.
“When I was around 10 years old, my teacher noticed that I really love math so he suggested that I start coding. He showed me this website called Code Academy,” says Sieh, in an interview with Rappler.
Hailing from Antipolo, Sieh had only studied coding even before her parents hired her a tutor to enhance her skills further. At the age of 12, she already knows three programming languages and has conducted basic coding using the program Scratch Jr. to a group of 10 kids from Bagong Nayon 2 Elementary School.
Isabel Sieh proves to be an inspiration to the younger generation that it’s never too early, nor too late to learn new things.
