Pacquiao attended the opening of “Pacquiao Gym” and expressed in a press conference that it will serve “to help the people do exercise” and to “discover a good boxer” in Japan.
There will also be a fitness center inside the gym, and it is open for a variety of people—professional boxers or not—to work out there.
According to asia.nikkei.com, the gym will be run by Japanese businessman Yoshihiro Agata, Pacquiao’s longtime acquaintance, under a licensing deal, and will not be affiliated with the Japan Pro Boxing Association.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao is looking forward to having a much closer relationship with Japan, and he added that: “Who knows? The next Manny Pacquiao could be from Japan.”
