MMPC Auto Financial Services Corp. launches “Auto Finance Business”
Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) Auto Financial Services Corp. (MAFS) held its inauguration ceremony on November 18, 2016 at Conrad Hotel in Pasay City to officially announce the start of its auto finance operations for Mitsubishi vehicle buyers in Metro Manila and selected provinces in Luzon.
MAFS is an affiliate of Banco de Oro (BDO)—the largest bank in the Philippines. In a press conference attended by Mikihisa Takayama, MAFS president & CEO; Kazuharu Kamiyama, MAFS executive president for credit & collection; Walter Wassmer, BDO Unibank Inc. senior executive vice president; and Dante Calma, MMPC marketing division first vice president, the executives explained that since the auto industry is on the rise, they prepared an expansion plan to make it easier for people to own a Mitsubishi vehicle.

According to their report, 75% of their vehicles are sold through financing. With this, Mr. Takayama noted that the entry of MAFS auto financing will enhance MMPC’s retail business due to its attractive and flexible loan products.

The MAFS Expansion Plan targets to have a nationwide rollout to cover all MMPC Dealers in Luzon within the first quarter of 2017 and in Visayas and Mindanao within the second quarter. It is expected that before the end of first semester next year, all MMPC’s 49 outlets nationwide will be fully covered.
By 2020, MMPC projects that more than 120,000 Mitsubushi units will be sold. On that same year, in addition to the Standard Auto Loan, MAFS plans to introduce “Finance Lease” to provide more affordable financing solutions to choose from.
MAFS is a joint venture between MMPC, BDO Leasing and Finance, Inc., Sojitz Corp., and JACCS Co. Ltd.
