In a report published by Asian Journal, the film festival was held from October 8-13, 2016 to promote cinema as a means of combating ignorance, terrorism, and poverty. A total of 35 countries participated with 72 submissions separated into three categories, including short fiction, documentary, and animation.
The “Caretaker,” according to Business World Online, revolves around the story of a newly hired custodian in a vacation house who discovered the gruesome aftermath of a fraternity’s initiation rites. Its casts feature Rolando Inocencio, John Paul Duray, Raymond Rinoza, Jomari Angeles, Luis Ruiz, Ryan Sy, Vince Rillon, and Ron Nacianceno.
Meanwhile, Sanchez confessed in a report by Philippine Daily Inquirer that “honestly, I didn’t expect to make it in the competition. But it’s a nice bonus.”
The film continues to gain recognition locally and internationally as it also enters the International Film Festival Manhattan in New York and the Active Vista International Human Rights Film Festival in Manila.
