In a report published by ABS-CBN News, Marten van den Berg, director-general for foreign economic relations at the Dutch foreign ministry, said that representatives from 20 Dutch companies are looking for partnerships with Filipino firms on infrastructure, water, and agriculture projects.

During the interview at news channel ANC’s “Market Edge with Cathy Yang,” Van den Berg mentioned that Dutch businessmen are on a three-day trade mission in Manila to look for possible partnerships in the country.

He said that the Netherlands is inviting its companies to invest in the Philippines and that they are ready to help “facilitate the trade [and] investment opportunities.”

Van den Berg also said that follow-up meetings in Manila are being scheduled as there were no deals signed yet during the current visit.

“Dutch companies are looking for long-term relationships. For us, it’s not always important to have straight away contracts but starting good relations, looking for opportunities, discussing opportunities,” he added.
