    A Swiss-filled celebration officially starts as Marco Polo Ortigas Manila launches its very own celebration of Switzerland, August 4, 2016, at the Ballroom A of the only sky hotel.

    The Swiss Army Band

     

    In celebration of the 725th National Swiss Day, the Hotel, in partnership of the Embassy of Switzerland, gathered guests for a day full of Swiss food, cheeses, and wine. Guests were welcomed by host and Swiss national, Rapha Kiefer; and the Hotel’s General Manager and also a Swiss national, Frank Reichenbach. Afterwards, guest of honor, Embassy of Switzerland’s Deputy Head of Mission, Raoul Imbach, gave a speech about Switzerland, its diverse culture and food―something that is similar to the local culture.

    Swiss Army Band’s Lt.Col. Patrick Boratel, Xin Tian Ti’s Samuel Po, celebrity guest Sarah Lahbati, Raoul Imbach, and Frank Reichenbach, officially opened the celebration with the traditional cutting of the huge Swiss cheese. Also, a special performance was made by the Swiss Army Band.

    Swiss set menu: Swiss Barley Soup with Herbs and Air Dried Beef, Beef carpaccio with beef tartar, quail egg, mache leaves, Veal Zurichoise with roesti potatoes

     

    As they listen to the sound of Switzerland, guests indulged in a flavorful Swiss set menu, specially prepared by the Hotel’s well-trained chefs. Starting off the Swiss favorite, Beef Carpaccio with Beef Tartar, Quail Egg, Mache Leaves, followed by the hearty and tender traditional Veal Zurichoise with Roesti Potatoes. To end a savory meal is the scrumptious Plum Tart with Vanilla Schnapps and Whipped Cream.

    Immerse yourself in an experience of the natural Switzerland this August 19 to September 4 as Marco Polo Ortigas Manila brings Switzerland to you. Opening the two-week long celebration of All Things Swiss on August 19 is a guest Swiss chef from Marco Polo Hongkong, Chef Rolf Jaeggi, who will also be teaching interested guests how to do Swiss favorites for a cooking class on August 21.

    Have a fine Swiss experience with a wine dinner that features a special 4-course set menu that brings in the flavour of the natural Switzerland at Cucina on August 19, for Php 2,888. Indulge in a wide selection of Swiss dishes for a food festival at the all-day dining restaurant, Cucina, from Monday to Thursday, at Php 1,500 for lunch buffet and Php 1,800 for dinner buffet; and from Friday to Sunday, at Php 2,300 for lunch buffet and Php 2,650 for dinner buffet. Relax and unwind the Swiss way over an unobstructed view of the metro with Swiss cheese buffet and wine, available every night for the whole duration of All Things Swiss for Php 1,900 for the cheese buffet.
