There were instances in the past that the inaugurations of previous PH presidents were held at a different time and place. However, it usually takes place in Quirino Grandstand in Luneta. Usual attendees for the event are the President and Vice President-elects and their families, members of the congress, cabinet, Supreme Court justices, local officials, representatives of other countries and organizations, securities, and the general public.

Both the President-elect and the Vice President-elect shall then take the Oath of Office before they take the office.

As of press time, Rodrigo Duterte is the leading presidential candidate which has over 15 million votes, who is now presumed to be the next PH President. According to interviews, Duterte promised that he will only give a 5-minute speech, and was quoted to want the oath-taking to happen in Malacañang Palace and keep the number of guests as low as 150.
