Last Tuesday (April 5), Magbanua posted on his blog a photo of himself, holding a placard with “will work for free” on it. According to the top lensman, he wanted to go back to his roots by shooting alone as a “creative exercise.”
To those who would like to avail of his services for free, you have to fill up this form (http://bit.do/jmagwillworkforfree). Magbanua will then pick a couple from the pitches sent to him as the most compelling pitch wins. “Send me details. Locations, logistics. Your vision of your wedding or whatever your event is. I’m listening. It doesn’t need to be local, I can travel,” said Magbanua on his blog.
With his surprising announcement, social media went abuzz as many couples and brides-to-be wished to get their pitches picked. Some interested applicants shared their stories on Magbanua’s Instagram page, hoping these would get noticed.
In another post, Magbanua has posted that there were 3,075 pitches sent to him, just a day after announcing his free services.
According to Magbanua, he will accept events until the entire 2017. Forms will be closed on April 15, 2017.
