American alternative rock band Switchfoot chose Tondo, Manila as the location for their music video in their upcoming album. According to a report from CNN Philippines, the band chose Manila as “an ode to Jerome (Fontamillas).” Fontamillas is the band’s keyboardist, and has been with the band since 2001. He is also the lone Filipino member of the band.
Church Simplified, who brought the band in for a concert in Bonifacio High Street on Easter Sunday, March 27, posted the photo of the band performing in the middle of one of Tondo’s streets. It has since gone viral, having over 32,000 reactions and 9,200 shares as of this writing.
Switchfoot is known for their hits such as Dare You to Move (2000, 2003), Meant to Live (2003), and Only Hope (1999). Members of the band include Jon Foreman (lead vocals), Tim Foreman (bass), Drew Shirley (lead guitar), Chad Butler (drums) and Jerome Fontamillas (keyboard).
