  • Aside from revisiting and reflecting on our spiritual beliefs, the Holy Week also gives time for people to have a long weekend.

    While some would choose on going with the traditional activities during Holy Week, such as penitence, going on Visita Iglesia, or witnessing the Moriones festival in Marinduque—some would rather spend their weekend with their families, friends, or just by themselves.

    Here are the places you can visit for the coming long weekend.

    1. Peace and quiet in Caleruega, Batangas

    A couple of hours drive from Manila, Caleruega in Batangas is a known place to spend some quiet and alone time. Popularly known as a place where weddings are held, Caleruega features a chapel, retreat houses, hanging bridges, hand-carvings of the Stations of the Cross, and religious sculptures.

    Walking around the silent place definitely gives you peace, while being close to nature and God.

    2. Nightlife in Puerto Galera

    Go out of town and away from the buzzing city noise and head off to Puerto Galera for your dose of beach and nonstop party nights. The popular island does not just boats of its fine sands but also the nightlife that most tourists long for.

    Aside from booze, fire dances and band performances are being looked forward to each night at the island. Going there with your friends or loved ones will definitely leave a memory of fun and relaxation.

     

    3. Walk on the edge in Cebu

    If you are finished with partying, booking a trip to Cebu to try the Sky Experience Adventure is a good idea of adding adventure on your long weekend. At the Crown Regency Hotel, Skywalk Extreme is one of the main attractions as it gives you a nice 360 degree view of Cebu City from its roof top.

    What makes it more thrilling is that you can walk at the 418 feet high building, with only a harness to support you.

     

    4. Spend time with the family at Pico de Loro Resort
