According to Clark International Airport Corp. CEO Emigdio Tanjuatco III, seven international airlines have expressed intentions to establish operations in the said airport during their stay in the country to attend Asian Routes, an airlines and aviation stakeholders event.
These seven airlines are V-Air of Taiwan, Jet Star of Singapore, Thai Smile, Rayani Air of Malaysia, Express Air of Indonesia, Air India, and Airline 4.0, a new carrier from the US.
This visit will happen on March 5, where these 7 airlines are among those 17 carriers who have confirmed their attendance on the said event. According to Tanjuatco, he expects more airline delegates to visit the airport to see its facilities and infrastructures and possibly get their interest to launch flights on the airport.
With this possibility, Clark Airport can increase traffic as it aims to double its annual passenger traffic to three million in two years, with its market targeted outside Metro Manila.
At present, Clark hosts several airlines such as Qatar Airways, Cebu Pacific, Tiger Air, Jin Air, Cebgo, Dragonair, Air Asia Bhd, and Asiana Airlines.
According to a study by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), by year 2040, passenger traffic may reach 101.41 million in the airport.
