Box-office director Wenn V. Deramas dies at 47
The showbiz industry mourns anew as one of its most celebrated directors, Wenn V. Deramas, passed away due to cardiac arrest earlier today, Feb. 29. He was 47.

According to a report from ABS-CBN, Deramas was brought to the Capitol Medical Center at 2 a.m. Several attempts were made to revive him but to no avail.
In an interview with ANC, June Rufino, a close friend of Deramas, revealed that he already underwent heart surgery last year.
Celebrities took to social media to express their condolences for the long-time Film and TV director, including Vice Ganda, Marvin Agustin, Anne Curtis, and Gary Valenciano.
Vice Ganda, in particular, was very close to Deramas, having starred in many of his blockbusters. Deramas was the man behind his hit movies such as The Unkabogable Praybeyt Benjamin (2011); The Amazing Praybeyt Benjamin (2014); Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy (2013); and Beauty and the Bestie (2015), which earned the title “Highest Grossing Filipino Film of All Time”.
He was also the director for some of ABS-CBN’s hit TV series such as Marina, Kampanerang Kuba, Flordeliza (his last series with the network), and Mula Sa Puso.
His wake will be held at the Arlington Memorial Homes in Quezon City.
