DPWH issues road advisory for NAIA Expressway Phase 2
Planning to go to the airport this weekend? The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) says you should plan your trip accordingly and expect heavy traffic as connection works for the NAIA Expressway Phase 2 are set to begin this Feb 13.
Starting this Saturday, civil works contractor DMCI will commence test pitting activities from Piers 1 to 18 to connect NAIA Expressway Phase II project with the existing Phase I.
DPWH Secretary Rogelio L. Singson advises the public to plan their trips accordingly and anticipate heavy traffic at Villamor Airbase Section along Sales Road in Pasay City.
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has also approved the traffic management plan of DPWH to use 10th St. and 14th St. in Pasay City as alternate routes for motorists going to Sales Interchange from Andrews Avenue.
In addition, DPWH together with San Miguel Corporation (SMC) and DMCI have also requested the assistance of the MMDA, Skyway O & M Corporation, Pasay Traffic Bureau, Barangay 183 Pasay, and Villamor Airbase to help manage traffic especially at the rotunda of Domestic Road corner Andrews Avenue.
The P15.86-Billion NAIA Expressway project is a 4-lane 7.15-kilometer elevated expressway that aims to provide easy access to and from the three NAIA terminals and link the Skyway and the Manila-Cavite Toll Expressway (Cavitex), done under the administration’s Public-Private Partnership Program.
The project will also connect the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX)-Skyway to Cavitex, Macapagal Boulevard, and the Entertainment City of state-run Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR).
