ComicCon Asia: Newest Comic Convention to Launch in 2018
Geeks and otakus have something new to watch out for in summer 2018: the newest pop culture convention in the country, ComicCon Asia 2018. To be held from March 24 to 25 at the SMX Convention Center, the event is said to gather the best of comics, series, manga, anime, toys, gaming, and cosplay in one event while keeping a balance between international and Asian themes.

“With the local Filipino audience very up-to-date with both American box-office hits and Japanese anime, for example, the Philippines is the best place to have a comic con that is uniquely Asian,” shares event producer Pauline Laping on the ComicCon Asia website.
Besides being a grand showcase of Asian and international talents, the event will also be a learning platform for avid followers of the industry, and aspiring artists and creators.
ComicCon Asia will also hold special segments like One-Shot, where individuals can pitch ideas to major industry players for a chance to get projects and job offers, and Auction Hero, where you can bid on special collectibles. There will also be contests, cosplay competitions, and trading activities.
