The Pink Sisters Convent and Chapel in Tagaytay: A Quietude Space for Prayers and Intentions

You may have heard about the Pink Sisters and their convent in Tagaytay, which usually becomes a destination for reflection every holy week. While the nuns are often called ‘Pink Sisters’ because of their pink habit, they are officially part of the Sister Servants of the Holy Spirit of Perpetual Adoration, an institute of cloistered or enclosed nuns who follows a solemn vow to strictly separate themselves from the outside world.

Inside the chapel, you’ll find a grille just before the altar, which separates the people and the nuns to further keep the solemnity of prayers. 

On normal days, the convent is often a pit stop for people who visit Tagaytay. Visitors wish to ask for prayers from the nuns as they are said to be offering prayers for the world 24 hours a day.

Inside the chapel, one can write their intentions or prayers and drop it on the box for the nuns to read. These are collected and included in the sisters’ continuous prayers by offering comfort to many who believe in the power of collective intercession. This practice has made the chapel a popular destination for pilgrims and devotees from various parts of the country.

Outside the chapel is a garden-like setting of the Station of the Cross. Visitors can take a stroll while indulging in the fresh breeze and the temporary solitude.

How to get here

• By car: From Makati take the SLEX and take the Binan exit. From Binan exit, take the Nuvali Rd and continue to Laguna Blvd then turn right to Santa Rosa – Tagaytay Rd., continue straight then turn right to Tagaytay-Calamba Rd. Take the SVD Rd., to Daang Radyal 2, before turning left to Arnoldus Road. Pink Sisters is on that road. 
• By public transport: From the Ayala triangle, take the Erjohn and Almark bus bound to Tagaytay and then get off at Arnoldus Road. The road is after Zen’s Bulalo and Garden Grill. From there, you may take a tricycle ride going inside. Usual fare starts at Php 30/person.
