Mandarin Oriental is set to make its much-awaited return to Makati with Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila, a new luxury hotel rising within Ayala Triangle Gardens at the corner of Makati Avenue and Paseo de Roxas. The brand’s history in Manila dates back to 1976, when the original Mandarin Oriental Manila, formerly known as the Manila Mandarin, became one of Makati’s most recognized hotels.
For nearly four decades, it served as a landmark for business travelers, dignitaries, society figures, and guests celebrating important occasions in the city. Its closure in 2014 marked the end of an era, but the upcoming property signals a new beginning for the brand in the same district where it built much of its local legacy.
The new Mandarin Oriental Makati, Manila brings the hotel back in a more contemporary form, designed for a new generation of travelers while carrying the warmth and signature hospitality the brand is known for.
