Renewed faith, rustic architecture, and nature—these are the things you’ll find here. Named after the birthplace of St. Dominic de Guzman in Spain, Caleruega Church, also known as the Transfiguration Chapel, is a church founded in 1994 by the Dominican Order atop a hill in Barangay Kaylaway, Nasugbu, Batangas. Its rustic brick facade, decorated with arched windows and a prominent circular stained-glass centerpiece beckons both pilgrims and travelers alike for moments of spiritual renewal.
Inside Caleruega Church, visitors are greeted by a wooden vaulted ceiling that gives off a liberating vibe and polished tiled floors reflecting the soft light filtering through colorful stained-glass windows. These depict important biblical scenes, including the Transfiguration of Jesus, which cast colorful patterns that dance across the pews and altar.

Surrounded by landscaped gardens, koi ponds, pocket gardens, and shaded walkways, the grounds provide ample space for meditation and reflection. The cool breeze and panoramic views of Mount Batulao makes the church much more peaceful and liberating, which in turn make it a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
