If you still have time and would like to know the indigenous people of Hokkaido, it’s best to make a stop at Ainu Village. The replica village consists of 5 thatched buildings facing Lake Poroto. The houses at Porotokotan exhibit a different facet of Ainu culture.

The first two houses hold a free traditional show every hour where you can see the practices of the Ainu way of life. General admission is ¥800.
