Founded in 1930 by William “Bill” Shaw as a direct response to discrimination at other country clubs, it remains one of the oldest and most esteemed golfing institutions in the Philippines. It has even hosted major international tournaments including the Philippine Open and the World Cup of Golf. The sprawling estate offers a relaxing escape from the city with its green fairways, towering trees, and a well-maintained landscape that appeals to every kind of golfer.
Today, membership is highly sought after—its club shares enjoy strong demand—yet guests are also welcomed through member sponsorship and guest fees. However, guests can play if they’re accompanied by a member.
The club boasts two championship 18‑hole courses: East and West. Wack Wack boasts a lush, par‑72 layout that has hosted prestigious tournaments like the Philippine Open and the 1977 World Cup of Golf. The East Course stretches 7,222 yards and is known for its technical difficulty and dramatic layout, complete with water hazards, sweeping fairways, and iconic holes like the infamous par‑3 16th that has humbled many a golfer.

Both courses are impeccably maintained by VMJ Evergreen, ensuring a top-tier playing experience year-round.
