  • Banaue View Inn
  • When people go to Banaue, they think of one thing: the rice terraces. They want to make sure they have a great view of the terraces, so they head for Banaue Viewpoint. Inns with views of the terraces are also common, but none of them have a more picturesque view than Banaue View Inn.

    ROOMS

A HAVEN FOR BACKPACKERS. It’s not like the hotels in beach destinations, but then again why would you go to Banaue and choose to stay cooped up in your room.

Banaue View Inn was once the family home of Mrs. Lily B. Luglug, the granddaughter of renowned anthropologist Henry Otley Beyer. A surge in tourism for Banaue in the 80’s prompted them to turn their humble home into an inn by adding a few more simple rooms for weary travelers.

    souvenir shop

NOT FOND OF WALKING? They also have a small souvenir shop for those who cannot afford to go to town or Banaue Viewpoint.

The best thing about Banaue View Inn is the view you can get. It’s located at a higher elevation than any other hotel, lodge, or homestay in Banaue, giving its guests better views. You can see almost the entire Banaue valley from any of their balconies, particularly the one from their dining area.

The inn has 8 rooms that it offers to guests. They have rooms for two (P1,000 per night), three (P1,200 per night), and even families or groups of friends with at least 5 people (P1,500 per night). They do not offer free breakfast but they can provide an extra mattress for P300 per person per night.

Their rooms come equipped with a private bathroom that has hot and cold shower as well as towels. Rooms found on the left side of the corridor face the terraces, which will give you a view of the terraces. These rooms all have a veranda, which is a good spot to catch the sunrise.

    dining

DINE WITH A VIEW. You can have breakfast, lunch, or dinner made for you at Banaue View Inn.

Food at Banaue View Inn can be best described as simple and home-made. They cook everything in their kitchen downstairs, served fresh should you want to get a bite to eat for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. You can even have your meals served earlier than usual: just make sure you inform them ahead of time.

WiFi is not exactly new in Banaue, but it is uncommon in terms of a lodge having a fast connection. Banaue View Inn is one of the lodges that offers a fast WiFi connection that you can use free of charge.

It’s also one of the largest properties in Banaue. This means parking will not be a problem, especially for those who will travel using a rental or their own car. They even have a space that’s big enough for a small tour bus!

Apart from the inn, you can enjoy a quick side trip to Banaue Museum, found beside the lodge. The same people that run Banaue View Inn also curate the museum. Just ask them for a quick tour and they will gladly assist you.

You can find Banaue View Inn at Poblacion, Banaue, Ifugao. For reservations, you can go online through Agoda or email them at banaueviewinn_1984@yahoo.com. You can also call Mrs. Lily B. Luglug at 0916-694-4511 or Ate Benzie at 0928-304-6463 to book a room.
