Mystery Manila: Justice for Jamila Room
I am heavily into Instagram and Facebook and lately, I’ve been seeing photos of my friends with a black background and a question mark with them holding cardboards saying “Mystery Solved” or “Mystery Fail”. I decided to join the bandwagon today.
Mystery Manila is the newest break from our usual coffee and tea time bonding with our buddies. Challenging people since last May 2014, Mystery Manila aims to change how we see obstacles and competition by unleashing the inner Sherlock Holmes in all the room gamers.
Mystery Manila got its concept of live escape game room from the first ones in Japan. You will be locked in a room for 60 minutes to either solve a mystery or unchain yourselves to be able to come out of the room alive. Just kidding!
Having a branch near my office, I decided to book the “Justice for Jamila” room, which is solving a murder case. This is perfect for a frustrated detective like me. I promised the game master Vera not to share anything that can spoil the mystery room “Justice for Jamila”. Besides, who likes spoilers right?
I highly recommend Mystery Manila to be on your list of “Things to do for Halloween”. Among the many local celebrities who already tried the rooms were Bobby Andrews, Angelica Panganiban, Christian Bautista and UAAP’s Teng brothers.
Take a look inside of the Justice for Jamila room:
Though I failed to solve the murder case and sent the wrong person to jail (which was a shame…), I really enjoyed my first Mystery Manila experience, an out of the box and very fresh idea for entertainment. So if you think you are ready after lots of Criminal Case games played and CSI episodes watched come and try Mystery Manila. I am actually planning to book Rebecca’s room in their Makati branch as I type.
