  • Villa Angela Heritage House is located along Quirino Boulevard and looks like a typical house in Vigan during the 1800s. Owned by the prominent Versoza family, it was build in 1870 by then gobernadorcillo Agapito B. Florendo.

It was restored by descendants of the Versoza clan in the 1980s, and has become a depository of mementos acquired by the family, some of which date back to their early years in Vigan.

It’s one of Vigan’s most popular accommodations because of its current state. Among the many hotels and inns in the city, it’s the only one that has retained its 1800s lustre, complete with four poster beds in each room and capiz or windowglass shells for its huge windows. Antiques line the living room, from the table down to the jars.

Guests will feel like they’re taken back to the 1800s because of how well-preserved Villa Angela is. Its preservation is done so well, it’s been used for the filming of Jose Rizal which starred Albert Martinez. It was also the accommodation of choice for Tom Cruise in 1989 when they shot Oliver Stone’s Born on the Fourth of July.

Villa Angela has 4 private rooms and 2 dormitory-style rooms available for any of its guests. All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, with the four private rooms having their own bathroom. Two of the private rooms (Cuarto de las Hijas and Cuarto del Señor) have the bathrooms in the room, while the other two (Cuarto de los Hijos and Cuarto Pequeño) have their bathrooms separate from the rooms themselves.

Cuarto de las Hijas and Cuarto de los Hijos go for P3,000 per night, while Cuarto del Señor is at P2,700 per night. Cuarto Pequeño is at P1,700 per night. Food service is available for groups with a minimum of 7 guests.
