  • In Makati, there are two park-turned-markets that draw residents and visitors alike to get their bags and baskets ready for the freshest produce. Every Saturday, the Salcedo Park becomes a bustling place where families, local and foreign, mingle with each other.

    The Salcedo Saturday Market is a vibrant community market that sells various delights, such as organic food, fruits, and vegetables. Found at the Jaime Velasquez Park, it’s a great place to spend Saturday mornings with. It’s a shopping destination for those who want an alternative and healthier options aside from those found in a mall. Here, most of the products are made for a cause, which helps in the livelihood of indigenous communities.

    Formed in 2005, the Salcedo Market is a community project under the Women of Bel-Air Foundation, Inc. and brought together by the love of food. The market meets, come rain or shine, every Saturday with its concessionaires offer a wide range of wet and dry food, with cuisines from all over the world.

    This popular stall in the Saturday Market has made a name for itself for being the go-to place to get best-tasting kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) by Ikomai and Tochi Desserts

    The market houses several stalls that sell organic farm food, seafood, plants, health products, porcelain wares. Also, it has a dining area where guests can dine in while getting their food from several stalls that highlight cuisines such as Moroccan, American, Korean, Indian, and Malaysian delicacies. Of course, with being a market that’s all for healthier options, they sell gluten-free products such as diet bread for a healthier you.
