Juilliard Stage Manager To Train Aspiring Stage Managers at the CCP
The Arts Education Department of the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP) will hold a Stage Management Mentoring Program for free on July 11 to July 14 at the CCP Amado Hernandez Hall. Production Stage Manager Cristina Sison of Juilliard’s Drama Division in New York will lead the training for aspiring Filipino stage managers.

Sison will share her knowledge and expertise on the production process, from inception to fruition, based on the production book. Workshop participants will learn the practical application of pre-production, rehearsal, performance, and post-production. Plays professionally produced by CCP’s Vigin Labfest will serve as a demonstration of the four stages of production.
Sison has been the Production Stage Manager of Juilliard School, a world leader in music and performing arts programs, since the year 2000. It was in CCP where she first established her career in stage management. Sison is also a professional voice over artist and a grant recipient of the Asian Cultural Council (ACC) this year.
A stage manager, although not visible and not always recognized on stage, is one of, if not the most important player in a production. Through this workshop, Sison hopes to further promote the stage management profession in the Philippines.
