  • Ayala Greenfield Golf Club in Laguna: Scenic Fairways at the Foot of Mt. Makiling
  • As you drive south from Manila, Mount Makiling gradually reveals itself, a prelude to the scenic highland oasis that is Ayala Greenfield Golf Club. Located at the mountain’s base, this exclusive golf club in Laguna exudes the charm of a highland resort, with breathtaking views from the clubhouse and a community of elegant vacation homes.

The course is a delight for those who appreciate both challenge and serenity. Its fairways and greens are immaculately maintained, offering smooth play. Yet its mountainous terrain brings complexity—ravines to cross, sudden gusts of wind from the slopes, and dramatic elevation changes.

Distance isn’t the main challenge here; rather, it’s the precision in club selection and ball control that truly defines success. Fortunately, the course’s fairways are wide enough to allow confident drives, even for average players.

Notably, many of the holes have blind greens due to elevation shifts or doglegs, keeping players on their toes. Two standout holes are the 14th (Par 3) and 15th (Par 4), both featuring water hazards that are strategically placed to catch poorly judged shots.

On windy days, mountain gusts can carry balls into the water, especially if players err left on 14 or right on 15. A conservative approach, right on 14 and left on 15, is often advisable, though the latter requires a long second shot. A bogey is considered a good score here.

Ayala Greenfield Golf Club operates as an exclusive, membership-based golf facility. Non-members are welcome to experience the course, but only when accompanied by a registered member of the club.

On weekdays, members may bring up to three guests, while on weekends, the limit is four guests per member. The 18-hole course offers a complete game that combines beauty, challenge, and the serenity of its natural highland surroundings.

Guest fees are competitively priced, with weekday rates set at Php 3,000 and weekend rates at Php 5,500. These fees include access to the beautifully maintained course and its excellent facilities, making every visit a worthwhile retreat from the bustle of the city.

After your round, unwind in the club’s sauna, then head to the restaurant and indulge in their signature Spicy Chicken Adobo for just Php 350. For golfers seeking a scenic, high-altitude challenge close to Metro Manila, Ayala Greenfield Golf Club is an exceptional destination.
