Experience 10 Days of Best Contemporary Art This February
National Arts Months is celebrated every February. One of the biggest commercial hubs in Asia, Makati City, proudly introduces exceptional works of aspiring artists in the country this month.
Happening on February 14 to February 23, Art Fair Philippines will be holding 10 Days of Art around Makati Central Business District, which features public art, events, gallery and museum exhibitions. In short, the best of contemporary art.
For instance, The Unconfined Cinema: An Outdoor Cinema Experience underscores blockbuster Filipino films One More Chance and That Thing Called Tadhana. Movie dates are common nowadays but here, watch Filipino films with a little twist.
These films will be projected on the ceiling of the fountain area of Ayala Tower One. Films were curated by film composer Erwin Romulo, film critic Philbert Dy, and film archivist and historian Teddy Co.
The Art of Now: A Selection of Philippine Contemporary Art, on the other hand, is a projection mapping display led by Manila-based projection designer G.A. Fallarme and Dutch artist Henk-Gert Lenten. Catch exemplary pieces of art showcased through animated video projections!
Additionally, more exciting events in Makati are prepared for you! Some of these are TrascendenDance, a movement gathering co-presented by Daloy Dance Co. at KONDWI in Poblacion on February 14 and a one-night-only pop-up exhibit featuring various artists at Almacen titled “La Luminosa”, to be held on February 17.
Plus, enhance your drawing skills at a drawing workshop with Gig De Pio. See the full list of activities here.
Lastly, Art Fair Philippines 2020 ticket holders will get to enjoy deals and discounts from partner companies including Wild Flour, Tilde, Black Scoop Café, Futurist, Regine’s Salon, Mavyn, Karimadon and many more!
Art Fair Philippines is indeed one of the best fairs in the country, providing new activities to try and an effective platform to highlight the best of contemporary art.
