  • Stage Kiss Opens REP PH’s 2020 Season in February
  • Kicking-off Repertory Philippines’ (REP PH) 2020 season is their adaptation of Sarah Ruhl’s Stage Kiss. The romantic-comedy will be staged from February 7 to March 1, 2020, at the Onstage Theater, Greenbelt 1.

Stage Kiss is hailed as The New York Times’ Critic Pick of 2014 that follows the story of two actors who were once lovers.

The play within a play production takes audiences backstage where two actors find themselves cast as lovers in a 1930s melodrama. With a romantic history together, the two attempt to work with their past while giving life to the characters they portray.

The play explores illusion, reality, and the blurred lines between the two main characters. It will also question whether life imitates art or art imitates life. What will happen when the actors share a stage kiss? Is it just two actors following their script or is it two lovers sharing a true kiss?

Directed by celebrated filmmaker Carlos Siguion-Reyna, Stage Kiss will be the first out of four productions included in REP PH’s 2020 season.

Playing the romantic leads She and He are Missy Maramara and Tarek El Tayech. Rounding out the cast are REP veterans Robbie Guevara and Jamie Wilson, REP’s up-and-coming young stars Andres Borromeo, Justine Narciso, and Mica Pineda, as well as celebrated pianist Nick Nañgit.

Tickets start at Php 1,000 and are available at Ticketworld outlets and online.
