EITSC and NordCham to Hold Forum on Sustainable Development
In recent years, a growing number of companies around the world have adopted and implemented sustainability practices and it is time for the Philippines to follow suit.
The Advocacy Forum titled Achieving Win-Win Approaches Sustainable Development invites local government and business leaders for a conversation on sustainability this June 20, 2019, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Dusit Thani Manila, Makati.
The event is hosted by the European Innovation, Technology, and Science Center Foundation (EITSC) in partnership with Nordic Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (NordCham) to address what government leaders and business executives can jointly do to achieve inclusive growth.
Joona Selin, NordCham Executive Director and Henry Schumacher, EITSC President presented the event to the media last May 27.
Last April, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) launched the sustainability reporting guidelines. In response, the forum is created to make views heard and be part of the dialogue amongst the private sector, government, civil society, and other stakeholders.
There is also the United Nations Development Programme’s (UNDP) 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs) to be achieved hopefully by 2030. Six of which will be tackled during the forum namely: No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health and Well-being, Quality Education, Decent Work and Economic Growth, and Reducing Inequalities.
EITSC Advocacy Forum Achieving Win-Win Approaches in Sustainable Development is scheduled this June 30 at the Dusit Thani Manila, Makati for an admission fee of Php 7,000 for members, Php 7,840 for non-members, with a 10% discount for groups of 3 or more.
