Outstanding Women Photographers To Spearhead Photoworld Asia 2019
Photoworld Asia is back, and the remarkable women of Philippine photography are taking the lead this time!
The 33rd installment of the annual photography conference organized by the Federation of Philippine Photographers Foundation (FPPF) is split into two parts: the launch of a photography trade show highlighting the latest products and innovations in the industry in Glorietta Activity Center on January 31; and the international photographers’ conference to be held at AIM Conference Center Manila (ACCM) from February 1 to 3.

As this year’s theme is empowering women, the speakers will be composed of women photographers who are highly-regarded in their respective fields.
RC Sustiguer will kick off the conference with a talk on branding and marketing, which will then be followed by Vivian Valdez’s discussion on mobile phone photography. Geli Blanco will wrap up the first day with a talk on social media publishing.
The second day of the conference will feature more specialized photographers like Andrea Genota for natural light portraiture, Peachy Hernando for underwater photography, and Rachelle Lobangco for conceptual photography. There is also a discussion on empowerment through innovation in the world of print by Lisa Watson.

The third and last day will delve more into the experiential aspect of photography with Hannah Morales discussing storytelling through photography, Shaira Luna on fashion and advertising photography, and Jaja Samaniego on the truths of life in photography. Philippine Daily Inquirer Photojournalist Joan Bondoc will also impart her knowledge and experiences to the attendees on February 3rd.
Admission to the photography trade show at Glorietta Activity Center is free, but the three-day conference at ACCM is priced at Php 5,000. Those who are interested to attend the conference may register here. Senior citizens, students, and women delegates are entitled to a 10% discount.
