Anilao Underwater Shootout 2017
Now in its fifth year, the Underwater Shootout is set to once again own the spotlight in the world’s largest macro photography shootout happening in the country.
As a joint project under the Department of Tourism (DOT) and the Philippine Airlines (PAL), this underwater shootout aims to invite and include at least 200 foreign and local underwater photography enthusiasts to participate in the said event. Running from November 28 to December 2, 2017, the Anilao Underwater Shootout 2017 will take place in Mabini, Batangas City.

For this year’s competition, the Department of Tourism aims to showcase, highlight, and give emphasis the rich biodiversity in Anilao. There will be two distinct categories available for this year’s competition: Blackwater and Bonfire, which should feature animals found and photographed by doing either black water and bonfire dives; and GoPro or iPhone Special Beginners, which is a new category for participants who use GoPros, smartphones, and the like for underwater photography.
Registration and submission of entries for the competition proper will be held at Acacia Resort and Dive Center in Batangas City. Awarding and closing ceremonies will take place at Camp Netanya in Bauan, Batangas City. Tickets for the upcoming event are priced at Php 1,500 which is inclusive of an event kit which includes a Competition Badge/ID, Dive Philippines giveaways, and freebies from various sponsors.
