  • Philippine cinema has endured and thrived for a hundred years, and it will be celebrated in Sandaan: Philippine Cinema Centennial Conference on September 14 to 15 at the University of the Philippines Film Institute Cine Adarna and the De La Salle – College of St. Benilde Theater.

    Presented by the UP Film Institute with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP), in partnership with De La Salle – College of St. Benilde, Sandaan will serve as a gathering of world-renowned film scholars and artists and a venue for film lovers and students to learn more deeply about Philippine cinema.

    There will be special lectures and panel discussions that will tackle the development of cinema in the Philippines through various eras.

    There will also be screenings of classic Filipino films like Kidlat Tahimik’s Perfumed Nightmare and Tony Cayado’s Big Broadcast.
