  • Festivals are a big thing with Filipinos. We celebrate them for different reasons and in different seasons. There’s at least one festival a month that everyone is raring to go to. One festival stands out in August: Legazpi’s 25th Ibalong Festival.

    The Ibalong Festival has been celebrated for a quarter century, and has always been about the Ibalong epic. From the first time the Ibalong festival was first celebrated, they have always featured lessons and scenes from the epic.

    Now on its 25th year, the Ibalong Festival is as vibrant as ever. An official schedule is not out yet as of this writing, but several side events have been revealed on social media:
