  • Boracay of the North: Saud Beach
  • The Saud Beach is what makes Pagudpud, the paradise of the North.

Coconut trees line up the view

Often dubbed as the “Boracay of the North,” Saud Beach is popular for its white sand beach that can be comparable to that of the Boracay Island. However, although it is usually akin to the other pristine beaches, Saud Beach in Pagudpud has its own charm that makes visitors up North enjoy the serene beauty that it offers.

For the best getaway in Pagudpud, it is important to visit Saud Beach. This stretch of the beach opens to the West Philippine Sea which brings the waves that people enjoy during summer for surfing, snorkeling, and scuba-diving activities. Unlike Boracay, Saud Beach has tranquil water and quiet surroundings; it is not crowded by establishments and it is also very peaceful, perfect for those who want to spend some alone time or an intimate vacation.

A quiet paradise in the North

The powdery sand and the coconut trees that line up the shore make it look more beautiful. There are some resorts in the area which can offer you a refreshing drink or two while admiring the sunset at the beach. Here, you can enjoy a nice vacation because you don’t need a lot of money because after all, the entrance for the beach is free of charge. With the cheap accommodations around the beach, you’ll truly have a nice time in Pagudpud. If you wish to try local dishes which are very inexpensive, you can opt to buy food from eateries along the town.

What makes it lovelier is that you would definitely be in awe of how calming the place is. Especially during off-season, there are only a few tourists that come so it’s like having the beach all to you. When it’s summer in the Philippines, expect to see more tourists because it has been getting popularity since it is being tagged as one of the best beaches in the North.

To go here by commute, you can drop off at Pagudpud junction and hire a tricycle that will take you to the beach for only 15 minutes. By air, you can take a flight from Manila to Laoag City then you can ride a bus or van going to Pagudpud. If you want a cheaper accommodation other than resorts, there are various homestays in town, you can always ask the people and tricycle drivers there who are very approachable.
