In this event, attendees will be able to watch the film “Bolinao 52” which was documented by Duc Ngyuen following the story of 110 Vietnamese stranded in the Pacific Ocean in 1988. For 37 days, they endured violent storms, engine failures, and hunger until they were rescued by the Filipino fishermen who brought them to Bolinao Island in the Philippines.

Global Migration Film Festival will be held in 75 other cities around the world on the same date.

The International Organization for Migration in the Philippines is also organizing this event to hold a Candlelight Vigil in memory of migrants who perished along dangerous routes this year.
