  • Creative weekends are back at Mitsukoshi BGC as Bumi & Ashe returns with their much-loved beginner-friendly workshops in time for the Aki Festival! From pottery to rug tufting, participants are invited to unleash their creativity and bring home handcrafted pieces on October 4 to 5 and November 8 to 9, 2025.

    This highly anticipated series of workshops will be held at the second floor event space of MITSUKOSHI BGC (near Arabica Coffee in October and in front of Fullybooked in November). Limited slots are available, and attendees are encouraged to book early through bumiandashe.com. The first 10 bookings can enjoy a 10% discount using the code AKI10.

    Pottery Classes

    • Mug or Matcha Bowl Making (Php 2,800): Craft a mug or matcha bowl by hand, complete with carving, painting, and glazing. Includes 3-hour guided session, 600g stoneware clay, tools, unlimited paint, glazing, and firing service.

    • [Mitsukoshi Exclusive!] Ramen Bowl Making (Php 3,200): Sculpt and design your very own ramen bowl without a wheel. Includes 3-hour guided session, 1.5kg stoneware clay, tools, unlimited paint, glazing, and firing service.

    Rug Tufting Classes

    • Rug Solo (Big) – 60x60cm frame (Php 4,200): Tuft a 20×20-inch rug using your chosen yarn colors and learn the full finishing process.

    • Rug Pair (Big) – 60x60cm frame (Php 4,500): A duo-friendly version where two people share one tufting frame and create one finished rug together.

    • Rug Solo (Small) – 45x45cm frame (Php 2,700): Tuft a 15×15-inch rug with the same inclusions and techniques as the solo big frame option.

    Each rug tufting class includes the use of a tufting gun, threader, scissors, glue, and backing kit, as well as guidance from experienced instructors.

    What Participants Can Expect

    All workshops are beginner-friendly, with pottery open to participants aged 5 and above and rug tufting open to those 15 and above. Each session runs for three hours and provides all the necessary tools and materials.

    Pottery participants will need to wait 6 to 8 weeks for their pieces to be fired and glazed before pickup at the Makati studio or delivery (shipping fees not included). Rug tufting participants, however, can bring their finished rugs home the same day after completing the finishing process.
