“Nasaan si Hesus?” is being restaged due to the continuing relevance of its script and songs, which dramatize the real pressing problems that Christians face in today’s complicated world. They include issues and conflicts like teenage pregnancy, unjust working conditions for factory workers, men with two families, electoral reforms, hypocrisy in the parish, legal injustice and loss of faith even among some members of the clergy. The reality and relevance of the problems and solutions dramatized in the show has made it uniquely popular and inspirational through the years, with more than 80 performances all over the country.
Proceeds of the play will benefit the following organizations: Community Chest Foundation, Inc. (ComChest) which supports eighteen social services agencies; The “Batang Transformers” project of the Pimentel Institute for Leadership and Governance which helps Muslim, Lumad and Christian youth leaders experience oneness of being Filipinos and aims to eradicate all forms of prejudice embedded in their young minds; The PasaLord Prayer Movement whose advocacy is to mobilize nationwide interfaith prayers for justice and peace in the country and; Projects of the Women’s Rights Movement of the Philippines.
