UNKNWN.Fiesta: Experience a Taste of Old Manila Through Music and Art This February

Music and community-driven event series UNKNWN is taking the leap with the launch of an annual festival–UNKNWN.Fiesta.

Happening on February 22, 2020 at Puerta Real Gardens, Intramuros, the festival is a celebration of Filipino heritage and culture through the merging of local and international music, art, food, and design.

Furthermore, it hopes to highlight environmental awareness through sustainable event solutions.

UNKNWN.Fiesta will use all areas of the Gardens and create a more immersive setting with multiple stages, art installations, and a variety of food options that will have them waxing nostalgic about their Manila childhoods—or give them a taste of Old Manila if they never got to experience it.

Enjoy the three stages of UNKNWN.Fiesta—Abanico Stage, Jeepney Stage and UNKNWN Village. These are made in collaboration with local artists Leeroy New and Paul Jatayna. The festival will also be showcasing art installations by Jessica Dorizac & Miguel Aquilizan and Zeus Bascon. Taking inspiration from Filipino heritage and culture, and the country’s environmental issues.

Eccentric acts will comprise the Phase 1 festival line-up including international artists Hercules & Love Affair and Louisahhh. Hercules & Love Affair is a project of American DJ Andy Butler, and consists of a rotating cast of members well known for their house, disco, techno, and nu-disco tracks.

Meanwhile, Loisahhh is a DJ whose global success straddles the world of techno, industrial, pop, and punk. She also owns the RAAR music label.

You also shouldn’t miss the local performers in the mix such as Joey Abando (lead singer of Boyfriends), Big Hat Gang Live, Similarobjects, Adrianne b2b Dignos, Badkiss, and Arbie Won.

The Phase 2 of the festival includes acts such as Hot Chip, Friendly Fires, Kamma & Masalo,  Arbie Won, Badkiss, Bins, Jason Soong, Hernandez Brothers & Lustbass, Joee & I, Toni Bernardo & Imperatriz Filipinese with D’ Armour Drum and Lyre Band, Jose David, Les Maladroits, Pamcy, Red-i, Squid 9, Tarsius, and UNKNWN Residents.
