Chicken Hands: Photographs by Ryan Arbilo will features black-and-white images of Filipino housemaids working in France for years. The photos highlight their tired, overworked hands which were said to look like chicken feet, thus the title. The faces of the housemaids were also focused on in the images, reflecting the fatigue and the hardships they had to endure to earn.

Arbilo started the project in 2009, and he aimed to “give expression to their silence, their fatigue, and their solitude through their sole means of survival: their hands.”
