The Philippines, ranked 125th, has had previous encounters with Bahrain, who are ranked 126th in the world. Azkals won the first meeting in 2015 with a score of 2-1 during the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia™ – Asian Qualifier, only to lose the next match 0-2. Other matches include a 0-0 draw in 2012 and a 1-2 loss in 2015, both on international friendlies in Bahrain.

The Philippines has had better luck versus the 118th-ranked North Koreans, with a 1-1-1 win-draw-loss record, the most recent being a win against DPR Korea 3-2 during the FIFA World Cup Asia Group H match last March 2016.

The Men’s national team will be led by Philip and James Younghusband. They will be coached by Thomas Dooley.

The matches will take place at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila this October 7 and 10. Kick-off for both matches is at 8:00 pm. Tickets are at P500 for center lower grandstand seating, P300 for upper grandstand and lower grand stand seats (left and right), and P100 for bleacher seats. Tickets are available at TicketWorld.
