Binding Davao City from 11 to 1: Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2016
The “King of Festivals” is back, and though the current city administration promises a simpler and more meaningful celebration, it doesn’t take away the fact that Kadayawan sa Dabaw 2016 will be just as colorful as it has been.

This year’s Kadayawan Sa Dabaw promises to uphold the ideals that it has stood by since the beginning: recognizing our Lumad and Muslim brothers and sisters while still celebrating the bountiful harvest of Davao City and its nearby villages.

Kadayawan Sa Dabaw 2016 will take place from August 15 – 21, and brings it all to form during its last two days. The Indak-Indakan sa Kadalan or Street Dancing Competition will brighten up the city’s streets on August 20 while the Pamulak sa Kadayawan (Floral Float Parade) and Pahalipay sa Kadayawan (Thanksgiving Show) will take place on August 21.

Those who would like to witness the crowning of Davao’s finest maiden should clear their schedule on the night of August 19, as the Hiyas sa Kadayawan (Gem of Kadayawan) will have its Grand Finals that night. Cultural shows will also take place from Day 1 all the way to Day 4.
